Finisher Functions
Collate Function
Collates pages in sets as they are output.
Group Function
Groups all copies of each page in sets as they are output.
Staple Collate Function
Prints, collates, and staples one set at a time, then repeats the procedure.
CAUTION
• Do not place your hand in the part of the output tray where stapling is performed when a finisher
is attached. This may result in personal injury.
NOTE
• When the stack of output printed pages reaches the stack height limit of the tray, the machine changes the
output to another available output tray. If all available output trays have reached the stack height limit, a
message appears and printing stops. Remove all printed pages from trays and resume Copy operation.
• If the finisher stops in the middle of a job and a message asking you to add staples appears, you will need
to change the staple cartridge because the staple supply is low. (See “Adding Staples,” on p. 3-5.)
Offset Function
When printing using Collate or Group, this func-
tion offsets the first page of each printed set by
approximately 1 1/4" (30 mm).
