
4) Output the image having shown the symptom, and check that the symptom does not occur. If the symptom no longer occurs,
the work is completed.
5) Change Service Mode (Level 2) > Mode List > COPIER > Adjust > V-CONT > "VBACK-K" and "VBACK2-K" to "-3".
The range of setting is from "-5" to "+5" ("0" by default).
Changing the setting value lowers the fogging removal potential of black.
[Caution] Changing the setting value may aggravate the fogging in black and outline characters may get difficult to see.
6) Go to Settings/Registration > Adjustment/Maintenance > Adjust Image Quality > Auto Adjust Gradation > and execute Full
Adjust following the procedure shown in the UI screen.
7) Output the image having shown the symptom, and check that the symptom does not occur. If the symptom no longer occurs,
the work is completed.
8) Choose and perform between the below A) and B) for each output/image.
- For print output, go to the step A).
- For copy output, go to the step B).
A) Referring to the correspondence table, determine where to change from among A-1) to A-6) for the image used in the user's
print out and change as needed, then go to the step 9).
A-1) Change Special Fine Line Processing.
A-1-1) From the printer driver, go to "Finishing > Advanced Settings > Special Fine Line Processing", select [1] in "Mode 3" and
press "OK".
[Reference] PS/PCL/LIPS 4 printer drivers do not support Special Fine Line Processing.
A-2) Change Halftones.
A-2-1) From the printer driver go to "Quality > Advanced Settings > Halftones", select "Error Diffusion" [1] and press "OK".
[Caution] With this setting, the setting change of "Advanced Smoothing" does not work.
A-3) Change the Density (Fine Adjust).
A-3-1) Select Settings/Registration > Function Settings > Printer > Printer Settings > Custom Settings > Print Quality > Density
(Fine Adjust) > Black [1].
