11.4. INSTALLING THE CONNECTING DUCT FROM THE EXISTING FURNACE
To install the connecting duct from the existing furnace on the left or right side of your CADDY Add-on furnace, remove
the screws (A) securing the large panel (B or C) of the furnace. Connect the ducts.
11.5. PIPE CONNECTOR AND DAMPER
The Caddy wood Add-on furnace must be connected to a duct system and chimney that are in good condition and
suitable for wood burning. In most cases, the use of a 6" connecting pipe and chimney is recommended if the wood
furnace evacuates into a separate chimney.
It is strictly forbidden to connect a solid fuel burning appliance to a
chimney already connected to a propane or natural gas appliance. Regulation CAN/CSA B365.1
In some cases, if the furnace is connected to an oil furnace and both appliances must share the same chimney, the
chimney and connecting pipe must be 7" in diameter and approved for use with wood-burning appliances.
WARNING
DO NOT INSTALL A MANUAL DAMPER.
