Network Tools
2.29 NETWORK TOOLS
The Network Tools function resides on both the 9A686-04 and SmartSwitch 9500 chassis and
allows the user to access and manage network devices.
Access the Network Tools screen by using the arrow keys to highlight the NETWORK
TOOLS field in the Module Menu screen and pressing ENTER. The Network Tools screen
displays. To see all the commands provided by the Network Tools utility, type help at the
command prompt and press ENTER. The Network Tools help screen,

The Network Tools Help Screen
The Network Tools functions are performed using a series of commands. Entering commands
in Network Tools involves typing the command to be executed at the Network Tools prompt,
adding any desired or required extensions, and pressing ENTER.
There are two categories of commands in the command set.
•
Built-in Commands – Allow the user to access and manage network devices. The
commands are arp, bridge, defroute, netstat, ping, reset, show, traceroute and
soft_reset.
•
Special Commands – Allow the user to exit from Network Tools. The commands are done,
exit, and quit.
NOTE
Some Network Tools commands, although executable, will not return any
information because they do not apply to ATM technology.
