Explanation
The voltage of the welding circuit (open-circuit voltage) is tested to
check for compliance with the specifications regarding the rated
voltage of devices according to
VDE 0544-4
.
The test socket is supplied with mains voltage.
Please observe the ignition voltage!
Only welding devices with voltages < 200 V DC and
< 150 V AC may be tested.
For TIG and plasma welding devices, the output voltage
(Ua weld.) must not be measured with the ST 760.
The tester uses a digital potentiometer to realize the
load of the welding device.
The load starts as soon as at least half of the limit of the
welding voltage has been reached. The load duration is
3 s.
Application
Class I, Ua, weld.
Only after passed RInsu measurement

Insert the shock-proof plug of the portable test sample into the
test socket of the appliance tester.
The test sample is supplied with mains voltage.
Use the test probes to scan the poles of the output side.
The current voltage is shown on the display of the appliance
tester.

Measurement
Connect the mains plug of the test sample to the test socket of
the appliance tester.
Connect the test probe and the measuring line to the appliance
tester according to the connection diagram.
Tap the “
Start
” button.
Move the test probe and the contact surface of the measuring line
to the poles of the secondary side.
The appliance tester measures the
DC welding voltage
, the
peak
value of the welding voltage
and the
welding current
between
the two poles.
Check the measured values for compliance with the technical
data of the test sample.
Tap the “
Stop
” button to stop the test.
The “
Test result
” screen opens.
