Commissioning
8.1
Mains connection
Plug the mains connection cable into a shock-proof
socket (230 V, 50 Hz, 16 A)
Set the mains switch to position "
I
”.
The appliance tester carries out a self-test and shows the
“
Registration / login
" screen after the start sequence.
8.2
Login
Inputs can be made via the capacitive touchscreen
manually or using the stylus supplied.
Navigate to the "
User
" screen by touching the "
Name
" input
line.
Select the user "
admin
" by touching the corresponding line.
You will get back to the “
Registration / login
” screen.
Touch the "
Password
" input line and enter the
preconfigured default password.
Default password of the admin user:
Benning
The manufacturer recommends to assign a new admin
password after the initial commissioning.
After entering the password, you can optionally enter an order
number
.
(The order number appears in the test report later.)
Confirm your entries by touching the
“
Confirm entry
” soft key.
The “
Main menu
” screen opens.
Incorrect password entry
If the password has been entered incorrectly, the following
message appears on the “
Registration / login
" screen:
“
Wrong name or password!
”
Correct your entry and confirm the login again.
Forgot password...
Touch the “
Forgotten?
” button on the
“
Registration / login
" screen.
The “
Forgot password...
” screen opens.

Proof of purchase of the
appliance tester
If the administrator is not
available:
Follow the steps to be
taken as administrator.
Provide the
BENNING support
with the serial number, user
level and index.
The
BENNING support
will give you a key.
Enter the key in the Password line and confirm with the
“
Log on
” button.
The appliance tester is enabled.
8.3
Main menu
Via the
main menu
, you can access all functions and settings of
the appliance tester.
8.4
Calibration
After initial commissioning, the appliance tester must be
calibrated using the internal calibration.
The ST 755/ ST 760 must be calibrated every 12 months
by the manufacturer or in certified calibration
laboratories
(see chapter 30, Maintenance / calibration).
Follow the instructions in chapter 9.6 to calibrate the appliance
tester.
8.5
Change of test station
Do not switch off the appliance tester if you disconnect
the mains supply of the ST 755/ ST 760 due to a test
station change. The ST 755/ ST 760 appliance tester is
provided with an integrated storage battery in order to
maintain operation in the event of a power failure.
The storage battery will be charged automatically in
mains operating mode with the device being switched
on.
