This needs to be a range of graphics that will be used solely for Command. Ensure that page
ranges do not overlap between channel groups.
A show’s graphics will be loaded sequentially from the start of this page range when the channel
group is locked. If graphics are added or updated, they will be loaded to the page at the end of the
sequentially loaded pages.
c
Although the Minimum field permits zero (0), it should be set to a number greater than the
largest page number used by your original graphics on the device; this is to ensure that your
original graphics are not overwritten by the temporary graphics that contain fulfillment data
for a show. The maximum value available is 99999998.
After a show with graphics is loaded to Command, the page numbers assigned to graphics may
be viewed in the playlist so long as the Graphic Page column is displayed.
Configuring Graphic Device Service Macros
MediaCentral Command supports sending a macro through the Avid Graphic device service, but
some additional configuration is necessary.
To configure Command for sending macros through the Avid Graphic device service:
1. Create a macro in the Chyron Lyric software.
c
Macros should not be used to change the transport status of the item in the program channel.
Command relies on the transport status to be consistent when sending transport commands;
having a macro change that status could severely impact playout.
2. Go to the Avid Service Configuration application, locate the Graphic device service, and define
the macro on the Macros tab. Command supports up to 10 macros.
3. At a Command Workstation, select Tools > System Settings > Channel > Indices and add your
graphic channel to the index.
4. To trigger the macro, it needs to be added to an X-keys or GPI device.
t
For X-keys, select Tools > Options > Actions > K-keys. Click the button and in the Choose
Action dialog box, select the macros from Control > Macros.
t
For GPI, select Tools > System Settings > GPI and select the appropriate GPI. Then select
Control > Macros and the appropriate index.
n
Command sends the macro through its index, but unless the macro also specifies the frame buffer,
Chryon Lyric will apply the macro to the active frame buffer. So, even though Command is channel
specific, the macro is not channel specific unless the frame buffer is defined in the macro.
Configuring the Graphic Inventory Editor
The configuration of the Graphic Inventory Editor (GIE) involves multiple procedures that are
covered in this section in a standard workflow. Configuration is done on the device, using the GIE
application. The GIE application provides a multi-tabbed user interface for managing graphic
inventory. Those tabs are: Templates and Styles. For more information about each tab in the GIE
application, see the following sections:
“Working with Templates” on page 102
and
The first step in the configuration process is to identify a path to your graphic inventory.
