Configuring a Second Command System

After installing Command on a computer that will be part of a second system, you will need to
change the system name by editing the
commandsystemname.xml
file, which by default is installed
in the following location:
C:\Program Files\Avid\MediaCentral Command
To change the system name:
1. Navigate to:
C:\Program Files\Avid\MediaCentral Command
.
2. Right click the
commandsystemname.xml
file and choose Properties.
3. Deselect the Read-only check box and click OK.
4. Open the
commandsystemname.xml
file in Notepad.
The text in the file will appear as shown:
5. Using numerals only, change the number (shown highlighted in the graphic) located between the
tags:
<NAME> </NAME>
. When setting up a second system, the number must be 2 to match the
license. Subsequent systems must be 3, 4, and so forth.
6. Select File > Save.
7. Close all workstation sessions and restart all Command and Avid Service Framework services on
that computer.

The
commandsystemname.xml
file must be changed on all computers that are part of the second
Command system.
