7.4.1 IPMB Connectivity
The IPMB is a dual radial topology. Each IPMC in the shelf connects to both SAMs for a
redundant IPMB.
7.4.2 RS-232 Serial Interface
The SAM provides an RS-232 interface on the face plate connector using an RJ-45 connector.
The connector is routed to the serial port of the shelf manager mezzanine.The default baud
rate is 9600, 8, N, 1. Pin assignments for this connector are:
The SAM provides an RS-232 interface on the alarm display panel at the front of the chassis
utilizing a mini-D 9pin connector. The connector is routed to the second serial port of the shelf
manager. The baud rate is 115200, 8, N, 1 and cannot be changed. Pin assignments for this
connector are:
