DIAGNOSTICS INSTRUMENT: ADJUSTMENTS

Exhaust valve - Zero position search

•

After having pressed the enter button

for the zero position search (the motor

rotor must position itself as illustrated

in the figure), shut off the vehicle and

leave the keys in OFF, even in the

event that the instruments indicate the

opposite.

•

Slacken the exhaust butterfly valve ca-

ble tension without disconnecting them

from the motor.

NOTE

IF IT IS NECESSARY TO REPLACE THE MOTOR, FROM
POSITION ZERO LOOSEN THE CABLES COMPLETELY TO
REMOVE THEM, THEN, AFTER DISCONNECTING THE
CONNECTOR, REMOVE THE MOTOR ITSELF.

•

Using the appropriate adjuster screw, tension the upper cable to leave about 1.8 mm (0.07

in) between the lock and opening travel limit of the valve.

•

Using the appropriate adjuster screw, tension the lower cable until tensioning is as close as

possible to that of the upper cable (at the risk of the following adjustment with the instrument

failing).

•

Tightening the lower cable will probably have caused the travel limit to shift: repeat the

procedure until the correct position is obtained.

•

Turn the key to ON.

CAUTION

THE "ZERO SEARCH OF THE EXHAUST BUTTERFLY VALVE MOTOR" PROCEDURE ENTAILS
RESETTING THE EXISTING MECHANICAL STOPS. AN ERROR FOR STOP SEARCH NOT CAR-
RIED OUT IS THEN INDICATED, WHICH REMAINS UNTIL THE SELF-ACQUISITION OF THE
EXHAUST BUTTERFLY VALVE PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED. DO NOT CARRY OUT THIS OP-
ERATION WHEN USING A NON-ORIGINAL EXHAUST SYSTEM WHERE ANY CABLES CONSID-
ERED NOT NECESSARY HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED.
