Suppression Release
Introduction
This chapter describes how to configure Suppression Release Hazard Areas through the
programmer.
Suppression Release refers to the release of water or chemical agents in response to alarm
conditions. Suppression Release operation is limited to hazard areas, which are collections of
initiating devices, signaling appliances, monitor ZAMs, and releasing peripherals, powered by
NACs, that are set up to respond to alarm conditions. The core of a hazard area is the releasing
peripheral, which releases water or chemical agents after an alarm condition occurs.
Each hazard area must contain each of the following:
•
One or more SLCnet photoelectric/ionization/heat detectors or Monitor ZAMs
•
Audible/visible appliances
•
Release peripheral(s)
For audible/visible signaling and agent release to occur, four NACs must be connected to the
hazard area. The NACs are:
•
Audible
•
Visual
•
Power
•
Visual Warning
This chapter discusses how to set up and configure the points and devices in each hazard area.
