The MG3702xA must be operating to run self-test. Therefore, malfunctions that cause the instrument to be
non-operational do not produce error messages. These problems are generally a failure of the MG3702xA to
power up properly or other start up issues.

This section provides procedures for troubleshooting common malfunctions encountered during operation of
the signal generator. Included are procedures for troubleshooting faults that do not produce error messages,
such as, failure to power up and unexpected shutdown.

The error “Unleveled” is often caused by an operator choosing a power setting that is above the
capabilities of the instrument at the frequency chosen (and options installed). Refer to
“MG3702xA Technical Data Sheet”

Caution
Never remove or replace a subassembly or RF component with power applied. Always remove the
power cord before disassembly and removal of any component or PCB. Serious damage to the
instrument or personal injury may occur.
