Power Level Log Conformity
For the following test, refer to the test record table in
“Section 3-9 Power Level Accuracy and
The log conformity test verifies the dynamic range and level accuracy of the Automatic Level Control (ALC)
loop. Power level log conformity is tested in both pulse (if equipped) and non-pulse modes by stepping the
output power level down in 1 dB increments from its maximum rated power level and measuring the output
power level at each step.
Power Meter setup
1.
Reset the power meter by pressing:

Configure the power meter to perform power measurements by pressing:

until Default is displayed in the
Measurement MODE
field.
3.
Configure the power sensor's calibration factor source by pressing:

until V/GHz is displayed.
4.
Setup the minimum V/GHz range by pressing:

5.
Enter the minimum frequency of the MG3702xA under test or minimum of the power meter.
6.
Setup the maximum V/GHz range by pressing:
Setup
| Stop F
7.
Enter the maximum frequency of the MG3702xA under test or maximum of the power meter.
8.
Press any hard key to begin the measurement.
MG3702xA Setup and Test
1.
Preset the instrument by pressing the green
PRESET
button. After preset, the
CW
menu is
displayed.
2.
If the MG3702xA has a step attenuator (Option 002):
a.
Press
Level
to open the Level Control menu.
b.
Press
Attenuation
to open the Attenuator Control menu.
c.
Press
On
to decouple the attenuator from the ALC loop.
d.
Ensure the Attenuation is set to 0 dB, as shown in
. If not, press
Decrease
Attenuation
until it reads 0 dB.
Caution
To prevent damage to the power sensor, use a fixed attenuator when measuring power levels above
+19 dBm.
