Test Setup Using a Mixer
For all power level measurements below –50 dBm, set up and connect the equipment shown in
, as follows:
1.
Perform a Range Cal on the ML2530A with a bandwidth of 10 Hz at 8.51 MHz:
a.
Set the Frequency to 8.51 MHz and Bandwidth to 10 Hz.
b.
Press
Cal
| Range Cal | R1&R2
.
c.
Apply a 8.51 MHz signal that is approximately –30 dBm and choose
Execute
.
d.
Wait for calibration to finish and then press
R2&R3
.
e.
Apply a 8.51 MHz signal that is approximately –75 dBm and choose
Execute
.
f.
Wait for calibration to finish.
g.
Repeat the R1&R2 and R2&R3 calibrations for frequencies of 10 MHz, 15 MHz, 60 MHz,
500 MHz, 600 MHz, 1 GHz, and 2 GHz, all with a bandwidth of 10 Hz.
2.
For RF frequencies below 2400 MHz, connect the MG3702xA RF Output directly to the RF input of
the measuring receiver.
3.
For RF frequencies above 2400 MHz:
a.
Connect the RF Output of the LO and the MG3702xA to the mixer’s (PN: 60-114)
L-port
and
R-port
, respectively, using low loss cables.
b.
Connect the mixer’s
I-port
to the
RF input
of the measuring receiver.
4.
Using a BNC tee, connect the
10 MHz reference
output from the measuring receiver to the
MG3702xA and the local oscillator
10 MHz REF IN
connectors.
Test Setup Using Anritsu T2579 Mixer Box
Use the following setup when using a T2579 box. See

2.
Connect the ML2530 Measuring receiver to the T2579 Mixer box connector labeled
To ML2530
.
3.
Connect the MG3702xA DUT output to the T2579 Mixer box connector labeled
DUT
.
4.
Connect the LO output to T2579 Mixer box connector labeled
LO
.
5.
Connect a Low Pass Filter and BNC cable to the T2579 Mixer box connector labeled
HI Band,
then
connect the other end to the Local Oscillator’s rear panel BNC connector labeled
HI Band
.
6.
Connect a Low Pass Filter and BNC cable to the T2579 Mixer box connector labeled
Lo Band,
then
connect the other end to the Local Oscillator’s rear panel BNC connector labeled
Lo Band
.
Note
When using the T2579 mixer box, moving the cables is not required because the T2579 box
automatically connects to the proper locations.
