a.
Preset the instrument by pressing the green
PRESET
button.
After preset, the CW menu is displayed.
Test Procedure
1.
Set up the MG3702xA as follows:
a.
Press
Frequency
to open the current frequency parameter for editing.
b.
Press
Edit Frequency
and set F0 to the CW frequency indicated in the test record.
c.
Press
Edit Level
to open the current power level parameter for editing.
d.
Set L0 to the first applicable power level indicated in the test record.
2.
Measure the output power level with the power meter and record the reading in the test record.
3.
On the MG3702xA, use the cursor control key (Arrow keys) to decrement L0 to the next test power
level in the test record. Measure and record the power meter reading in the test record.
4.
Repeat
for each of the test power levels listed in the test record (down to –50 dBm) for the
current CW frequency.
5.
Repeat
for all CW frequencies listed in the test record.
Power Level Accuracy (Models with Option 002)
For the following test, refer to the test record table in
,
“Section 3-9 Power Level Accuracy and
“Power Level Accuracy (Models with Option 002)”
Power level accuracy for power levels below –50 dBm is tested in two methods:
•
Measuring the MG3702xA’s RF output directly on a measuring receiver
•
Down converting the MG3702xA’s RF output and measuring the down converted IF on a measuring
receiver
In both cases, a reference power level is set on the measuring receiver and the output power level is stepped
down in 5 dB increments. The relative output power level is then measured at each step.
Caution
To prevent damage to the power sensor, use a fixed attenuator when measuring power levels above
+19 dBm.
