6-12 Cooling Fans
The power supply fan and the main system fan are held in place by anti-vibration mounts, using no screws.
The smaller A2 CPU fan is mounted using anti vibration rubber grommets and screws.
Main System Fan

1.
Remove the front handles, rear feet, and chassis top and bottom covers as described in
2.
Remove the fan filter cover and filter from the rear panel.
3.
Disconnect the fan electrical connector from the mother board.
4.
Remove the fan by pulling outward.
You may have to grasp and pull outward on the anti–vibration mounts to release the fan. Only a small
amount of force is required. If this is not successful, cut the anti-vibration mounts.
5.
Replace all damaged anti-vibration mounts (see
for part number).
6.
Install the new fan and attach the wired connector to P2 on the A1 mother board.
7.
Reassemble the system.
No recalibrations are required after replacement of this item.
Note
The A7 and A9 PCBs may have to be removed if there is not enough clearance for fan removal. In
this case, refer to
Figure 6-11.
