Chapter 3 — Performance Verification
3-9 Power Level Accuracy and Flatness Tests
MG3702xA MM
PN: 10370-10372 Rev. B
3-31
Test Procedure
1.
On the MG3702xA, press
Trigger
in the
Step Sweep
menu to start the sweep.
2.
Monitor the power level and the DMM
a.
On the power meter determine the Minimum and Maximum values.
b.
Monitor the DMM which will be incrementing from approximately 0V to approximately 10V.
When the DMM has reached approximately 10V the sweep is complete.
c.
Repeat
and
until you have the Minimum and Maximum power reading. Then
record the variation (difference between the maximum and minimum readings) in the test
record. Verify that the variation does not exceed the specification noted in the test record.
3.
Setup the power meter for the next measurement.
a.
Configure the power sensor's calibration factor source by pressing:
Sensor
|
CalFactor
|
SOURCE
until V/GHZ is displayed.
b.
Setup the minimum V/GHz range by pressing:
Setup
|
Start F
c.
Enter the lower frequency of the MG3702xA under test using the next frequency range value
in the test record.
d.
Setup the maximum V/GHz range by pressing:
Setup
|
Stop F
e.
Enter the upper frequency of the MG3702xA under test using the next frequency range
value in the test record.
f.
Press any hard key to begin the measurement.
4.
Repeat the setup and test starting at
of
until all tests are
completed in the test record.
Maximum Leveled Power
For the following test, refer to the test record table in
,
“Section 3-9 Maximum Leveled Power”
Maximum leveled power is tested by measuring the output power level during a full band sweep in the manual
sweep mode.
Test Setup
1.
Calibrate the power meter with the appropriate power sensor.
2.
Connect the equipment as shown in
3.
Connect the power sensor to the
RF Output
of the MG3702xA (use a fixed attenuator when
measuring power levels above +19 dBm).
4.
Connect the special AUX I/O interface cable (Anritsu PN: 806-97) to the MG3702xA rear panel
AUX
I/O
connector. Connect the cable BNC connectors as follows:
Note
Be sure to use and calibrate the appropriate power sensor for the frequency being measured.
Caution
To prevent damage to the power sensor, use a fixed attenuator when measuring power levels above
+19dBm.
