Chapter 6 — Removal and Replacement Procedures

A2 CPU Cooling Fan

Refer to

Figure 6-11

Remove the front handles, rear feet, and chassis top and bottom covers as described in

Section 6-4

Disconnect the fan electrical connector from the mother board.

Remove the four fan mounting screws.

Replace all damaged anti-vibration mounts (see

Table 6-1 on page 6-2

for part number).

Install the new fan and attach the wired connector to P7 on the A1 mother board.

Reassemble the system.

No recalibrations are required after replacement of this item.

The A7 and A9 PCBs may have to be removed if there is not enough clearance for fan removal. In
this case, refer to

Section 6-7 “A7 or A9 PCB”
