4. Verify that the bed name on the
CATALYS®
System screen matches the name on the label
located on the right side of the Mobile Patient Bed base, under that patient’s right
shoulder.
Homing the Mobile Patient Bed
After the system verifies that Bluetooth wireless connection has been established between the
Mobile Patient Bed and the
CATALYS®
System, the Home panel opens. As instructed in the
panel, return the bed to the Home position by pressing and holding the
(home) button on
the control pendant until the bed stops moving.
Placing the Mobile Patient Bed in Pivot Lock Mode
After the system verifies that the Mobile Patient Bed is in the Home position,
the Pivot Lock
panel opens, and you are prompted to orient the Mobile Patient Bed perpendicular to the
CATALYS®
System and place the Mobile Patient Bed in pivot lock mode. To activate pivot lock
mode, press the
(pivot lock) button on the control pendant. The button illuminates, and the
rolling mechanism on the patient right caster at the front of the bed locks; the swivel mechanism
remains unlocked. The rolling and swivel mechanisms on the remaining three casters also
remain unlocked.
Attaching the Suction Ring

Frequently communicate with the patient to ease them through the docking process.
NOTE
Verify that the disposable lens and fluid reservoir are properly connected to the system before
performing the patient docking procedure. Refer to

After the system verifies that the disposable lens is installed, the Vacuum panel opens, and you
are prompted to attach the suction ring to the patient’s eye, as follows:
1. Center the suction ring with respect to the limbus, and place it onto the eye. There
should be approximately 1-2 mm of exposed sclera between the suction ring and the
limbus, depending upon the size of the cornea.
