4. If using the Mobile Patient Bed, disconnect the bed from the
CATALYS®
System, as
described in the following section. If using the patient chair, unlatch the chair and rotate
it out from under the system.
Disconnecting the Mobile Patient Bed from the CATALYS® System
After releasing patient vacuum and lowering the Mobile Patient Bed, disconnect the bed from
the
CATALYS®
System, as follows:
1. Press the
(caster lock) button on the control pendant to deactivate the caster locks,
and rotate the bed out from under the
CATALYS®
System.
NOTE
You can also deactivate the caster locks by pressing the
(caster lock) button on the
backrest (by patient’s right shoulder) or footrest (by patient’s left foot) or by pressing the
lock foot pedal on either side of the bed.
2. Press the
(connect) button
on the control pendant twice to disconnect the bed from
the
CATALYS®
System.
NOTE
If you press the
(connect) button only once, the bed will go into safety timeout for
180 seconds. During this time, the
(connect) button will blink rapidly, and you will
not be able to activate the caster locks. Pressing the
(connect) button a second time
overrides the timeout and enables all bed controls.
If emergency patient egress is required while docked to the
CATALYS®
System:
1. Manually lower the headrest by pulling out the headrest frame tilt locking lever and
pressing down on the headrest frame.
2. Manually unlock the casters by rotating the knob on the face of each caster counter-
clockwise.
3. Roll the bed away from the
CATALYS®
System.
