Battery
The Mobile Patient Bed is powered by 2 rechargeable 12V sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries. The
on-board battery is designed to operate for a minimum of 2 days (at 12 treatments per day) and
can be recharged by plugging the bed's AC power cord into a standard AC wall outlet. When
recharged daily, the battery requires 2 to 4 hours to recharge. A completely discharged battery
requires 12 hours to recharge. For optimal performance, it is recommended that the battery is
charged on a nightly basis. The batteries are expected to last 2-3 years when charged as
recommended.
Batteries are not replaceable by the customer. Replacement batteries will be installed by
Technical Services. However, the batteries must be ordered and obtained by the customer prior
to installation. Batteries can be ordered from local battery distributors. Technical Services can
help identify a local distributor if needed. Used batteries must be disposed of in accordance with
local regulations. Approved batteries are:
• Panasonic LC-X1220P
• Power-Sonic PDC-12200
The
(battery status) icon on the control pendant indicates the battery status, as follows:
• Solid green—battery power is high; sufficient power for at least two treatments
• Slowly blinking green—battery power is low; sufficient power for one treatment
