2.1 Enabling, Disabling, and Resetting the Mobile Patient Bed
Enabling the Mobile Patient Bed
The Mobile Patient Bed is always enabled as long as the on-board battery has power, as
indicated by the battery icon on the control pendant, and the emergency stop button has not
been pressed. After 5 minutes of non-use, the Mobile Patient Bed enters sleep mode to
conserve battery power. Simply pick up the control pendant or press one of the auxiliary lock
buttons on the backrest or footrest to wake the Mobile Patient Bed.
Disabling the Mobile Patient Bed
If the Mobile Patient Bed becomes unresponsive during system operation, press the emergency
stop button on the patient left side of the Mobile Patient Bed base to disable electrical power to
all motors in the bed. The footrest, headrest, seat, and column buttons on the control pendant
will blink rapidly to indicate that the emergency stop has been activated. To reset the
emergency stop button, rotate the button clockwise.
NOTE
If the Mobile Patient Bed becomes unresponsive and/or the emergency stop button is pressed
while the bed is rotated under the
CATALYS®
System, before moving the bed you must manually
lower the headrest frame, as described in
Adjusting the Headrest Assembly
, and
manually unlock the casters, as described in
Manually Unlocking the Casters
Resetting the Mobile Patient Bed
If the Mobile Patient Bed encounters a critical error, use a pin or paper clip to press the reset
button next to the lock foot pedal on the patient right side of the Mobile Patient Bed base.
