4.7 Chiller Unit Maintenance and Inspection (ML-7064A Only)
4.7.4 Replacing Coolant
Replace the coolant in the Chiller Unit every three months as follows:
1
Drain the coolant.
2
Use the included manual pump to supply coolant from the supply outlet.
3
Start the chiller from the computer or the Operating Unit. (Run the chiller alone.)
4
Check the water level on the water gauge. If there is not enough water, add water while the chiller
is running and as you check the water gauge.
5
After replacing the coolant, reset the coolant replacement date in LMDraw6 on the [Consumable
Replacement] screen and on the Operating Unit on the [Maintenance] screen.
Failure to replace coolant and the ion-exchange resin regularly may damage the
Oscillation Unit, which is a core component of this system. The Oscillation Unit is an
expensive component. Please replace these parts according to the recommended
schedule.
Always use purified water as the coolant.
If you use another type of water (tap water, industrial water, etc.) instead of purified
water, an alarm will sound approximately 30 minutes after startup regarding low fluid
resistance and the marker will stop. The recommended range of electric resistivity is 1
M
-cm to 3 M
-cm.
If a flow error occurs when running the chiller alone, reset the error monitor, restart the
chiller, and remove the air from the hoses. For details on supplying coolant and
removing air from hoses, see 3.3 "Coolant Tubing (ML-7064A Only)" (p. 31).
Repeat these tasks until the flow error is cleared.
Whenever you start up the chiller repeatedly, wait at least three minutes before each
startup.
Avoid running the pump dry, as this may damage the pump.
Acceptable range:
less than 2 cm
Water gauge
