CHARGE MONITOR Light
When the green
CHARGE MONITOR
light is lit, capacitors are fully-charged and ready to weld. The light
will turn off for a short time during the weld discharge period and while the capacitor bank is
recharging. Once capacitor charging has been completed, the
CHARGE MONITOR
light will again
illuminate. When the
WELD/NO WELD
switch is in the
NO WELD
position, the
CHARGE MONITOR
light
will
not
light because the system is not ready to weld.
WELD/NO WELD Switch
With the
WELD
switch is in the
WELD
position, weld current is enabled and
programmed weld sequences execute normally.
With the
WELD
switch to the
NO WELD
position, weld current is
INHIBITED and
output relays are disabled
; however, all other control functions execute in a
normal manner. This feature allows adjustment of weld head and
SQUEEZE /
HOLD
delay parameters prior to actual welding.
Emergency Stop Switch Operation
If your work station has an
EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH
, connect it to the cable provided at the rear
panel of the unit. When pressed, the
EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH
will immediately halt the welding
process and de-energize all air valves and power circuits. Additionally, an
EMERGENCY STOP
status
display message will appear near the bottom of the display screen. To resume operation, reset the
EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH
to the normal position which will automatically return the system to
RUN
mode.
NOTE:
During the 20-second startup period when the Power Supply is first turned ON, an activation of
the Emergency Stop will interrupt 24V power to the Air Valve Driver output to ensure the weldhead is
not
actuated. When the 20-second startup period is completed, the
EMERGENCY STOP
message will be
displayed and the buzzer will sound.
If your work station is not equipped with an
EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH
, be sure that the conductors of
the emergency stop input cable are shorted together as the system will not operate with this loop
electrically open.
