7.2.3

Inspection and replacement of the toothed belt

Carefully check the entire belt for damage, particularly for frayed reinforcement wires. If replacement of a toothed belt
is necessary, proceed as follows:

Step 1: Disconnecting the power supply

Switch the printing system off at the power supply switch and disconnect it from the power supply.

Step 2: Removing the cassette

Unlock the cassette by turning the cassette latch counterclockwise. Move the cassette out of the printer.

Step 3: Loosening the toothed belt

Loosen the toothed belt by loosening the fastening screw of the belt tensioner.

Step 4: Replacing the toothed belt

Remove the old belt and fit a new, undamaged toothed belt.

Step 5: Tighten toothed belt

Tighten the toothed belt and fix it by tightening the fastening screw of the belt tensioner.

Step 6: Inserting the cassette

Set the cassette into the printer. Lock the cassette by turning the cassette latch clockwise.

Step 7: Establishing the power supply

Connect the printing system to the power supply and switch on the printing system at the power supply switch.
