6.2 Other faults
Description Cause Remedy
The printer works, but a print cannot
be seen on the used ribbon or on the
material to be printed.
Incorrect ribbon type used.
▪
Check whether the correct rib-
bon and not e.g. hot stamping
ribbon, etc. is used.
Ribbon was loaded incorrectly. The
incorrect side of the ribbon is in con-
tact with the thermal printhead.
▪
Ensure that the correct side of
the ribbon (shiny) comes into
contact with the thermal print-
head. If this is not the case,
please change the ribbon. Clean
the thermal printhead thor-
oughly before using it again.
Value for the print density is too low.
▪
Check the setting of the density.
Incorrect thermal printhead re-
sistance.
▪
Check the entered thermal print-
head resistances against the re-
sistance values of the thermal
printhead that is used.
Cable on the thermal printhead is
not correctly fastened.
▪
Ensure that the cable at the plug
contacts of the thermal print-
head is correctly inserted.
Attention: Switch off the print-
ing system before you begin this
inspection. Otherwise the print-
ing system can be damaged.
The thermal printhead is worn out.
▪
Replace the thermal printhead if
necessary.
Ribbon is not transported.
▪
Check whether the ribbon is
loaded correctly.
System error.
▪
Please contact the manufacturer
/ distributor.
Printer works, and a print can be

Check whether the air pressure
is correctly connected and ad-
justed.
The compressed air must be
clean and dry.
The thermal printhead is lowered.

Adjust the settings.
