Description Cause Remedy
Missing pixels in the print.
The thermal printhead is dirty.

Clean the thermal printhead ac-
cording to the instructions in the
operating manual.
The thermal printhead is worn out.
▪
If necessary, replace the thermal
printhead.
Poor print quality.
The print density is too high or too
low.
▪
Adjust the print density.
The machine support is not correctly
aligned.
▪
Align the machine support.
Backing pad dirty, worn out or dam-
aged.
▪
Check the backing pad and re-
place it as necessary.
Air pressure set too low.
▪
Increase the air pressure
Incorrect ribbon quality.
▪
Use a different type of ribbon.
Print speed too high.
▪
Adjust the print speed.
Part of the print is missing over the
width of the printer. Cable break between the thermal
printhead and thermal printhead con-
nection.
▪
Replace the cable, if necessary.
Ribbon keeps tearing. Ribbon is not loaded correctly.

Ensure that the ribbon is loaded
according to the instructions for
the ribbon installation on the in-
side of the printing system and in
the operating manual.
Tension of the ribbon incorrectly ad-
justed.

Check and correct the tension of
the ribbon.
Density too high.
▪
Check the selected density.
Ribbon produces folds. Incorrect alignment of the printer to-
wards the backing pad.

Correct the alignment of the
printer.
