7.2 Maintenance
NOTE
Printing substrate
The printing substrate is subject to operationally related wear. Therefore, we recommend storing ap-
propriate spare parts.
7.2.1 Overview of maintenance tasks
NOTE
Performing service on the printing system
The manufacturer recommends service on the printing system after 20000000 prints and/or after one
year.
Regular inspection and maintenance intervals are necessary for the early recognition of damage and signs of wear.

essary, replace if necessary.
Semi-annually Mechanical Visual inspection of the toothed belt for signs of wear; replace if necessary.
Semi-annually Mechanical Check the tension of the toothed belt; adjust if necessary.
Semi-annually Mechanical Check the carrier on the toothed belt for firm seating without play; re-fas-
ten if necessary, replace if necessary.
Semi-annually Mechanical Functional test of the linear unit. Movement over the full length of travel
possible without catching (stick-slip effect). Check for grinding noises and
recognizable traces of scratching; clean if necessary, replace if necessary.
Semi-annually Mechanical Functional test of thermal printhead bracket. Ease of movement of up-
ward/downward motion without catching; clean if necessary, replace if
necessary.
When replacing the
thermal printhead /
semi-annually Electrical Visually inspect the connection cable of the thermal printhead for damage
and correct installation position; replace if necessary.
Semi-annually Mechanical Inspect pneumatic connections / hoses to the printhead for damage, leaks,
correct installation position and mechanical fastening; replace if necessary.
