Step 3: Inserting a new cardboard sleeve
Remove the cardboard sleeve from the ribbon unwind. Slide an empty cardboard sleeve onto the ribbon upwind. You
may use the cardboard sleeve that was previously removed from the ribbon unwind for this.
Step 4: Check rubber drive roller and clean it if required
Check the condition of the rubber drive roller. If required, remove any present contamination. Use the recommended
cleaning agent for this purpose (see "
Cleaning
").
Step 5: Loading new ribbon
Slide a new ribbon roll onto the ribbon unwind.
Step 6: Threading the ribbon
A label that indicates the correct direction of the ribbon can be found on the inside of the cassette and in this operating
manual. Thread in the ribbon corresponding with the indicated direction regarding the ribbon upwind. Fix the free end
of the ribbon to the cardboard sleeve of the ribbon upwind by using adhesive strips.

Step 7: Establish the correct output tension
Rotate the rubber drive roller to ensure that the ribbon is properly attached to the cardboard sleeve of the ribbon up-
wind so that the correct output tension is transmitted to the ribbon.
Step 8: Insert the cassette
Set the cassette into the printer. Lock the cassette by turning the cassette latch clockwise.
