UPPER IMPELLER BELT REPLACEMENT (continued)
10
Remove the (2) bolts and the nut plate that hold bearing “G” in place (see Figure 8).
11
Loosen the (4) “J” bolts and the (2) “K” bolts.
12
Loosen the locknut on bolt “L” and turn the bolt to release tension on upper impeller belt “M”.
13
Reach in above the lower impeller and work the belt past the exhaust heat shield, toward the radiator-end
of the engine.
14
Reach in from the radiator-side of the machine and work the belt past hose guard “N”, over bearing block
“G” and out of the machine.
15
Follow steps in reverse order to re-assemble.
To replace the lower impeller shaft or bearings, follow the additional steps below.
16
Remove hose guard “N” from the frame. Two bolts at the bottom of the guard hold it in place.
17
Remove the (2) “P” hoses from the lower impeller housing.
18
Remove lower impeller housing “Q” and impeller “R”. Heating the impeller hub with a propane torch will
make it easier to remove from the shaft.
CAUTION!
Excessive heat may damage the impeller.
19
Remove the (2) “S” bolts, using a long extension and a universal socket driver. Then remove impeller
plate “T”.
20
Remove the hydraulic hose and elbow from the front-side of the propulsion pump. This is the hose and
elbow closest to bearing block “U”.
21
Work impeller shaft “V” out from the left (pump) side of the machine.
