External emergency stop devices can for example be required in the following
cases:
•
FlexPendant is detached.
•
FlexPendant is placed in its holder with the emergency stop device hidden
behind the emergency stop device cover.

The following operating regions are defined according to IEC 61131-2:2017 clause
6.4.4.2:
•
The emergency stop function is activated (open loop) when the voltage is
below 5 V.
The protective stop function is activated (open loop) when the voltage is
below 5 V.
•
The transition region is between 5 V and 15 V.
•
The emergency stop function is not activated (closed loop) when the voltage
is above 15 V.
The protective stop function is not activated (closed loop) when the voltage
is above 15 V.
