FRONT FORK INSPECTION

1. Inspect:

Inner tube

Outer tube

Scratches / bends / damage

Replace.

Do not attempt to straighten a bent inner
tube as this may dangerously weaken the
tube.

2. Measure:

Fork spring length

Over the specified limit

Replace.

Fork spring free length (limit):

289 mm

3. Inspect:

Damper rod

Wear / damage

Replace.

Contamination

Blow out all of the oil

passages with compressed air.

Oil lock piece

Damage

Replace.

4. Inspect:

O-ring (cap bolt)
Wear / damage

Replace.

FRONT FORK ASSEMBLY

When reassembling the front fork, replace
the following parts.
*Piston metal
*Slide metal
*Oil seal
*Dust seal

Before reassembly make sure that all the
components are clean.
