Blade guide alignment includes four steps: 

Blade Deflection

Blade Guide Vertical Tilt

Blade Guide Flange Spacing

Blade Guide Horizontal Tilt

Perform the blade guide alignment after you have aligned the blade on the wheels and adjusted
the blade and blade guide arm parallel to the bed rails. After blade guide alignment, check the
scale indicator to make sure it is adjusted properly.

Blade Deflection 

Perform the following steps to achieve proper blade deflection with the blade guides.

1.

Raise the carriage until the blade is 15" (375 mm) above a bed rail. Measure the actual distance
with a tape from the top of the rail to the bottom of the blade. 

See Figure 6-10. 

2.

Loosen the bottom jam nut and tighten the top jam nut until the blade guide deflects the blade
down 1/4" (6 mm). 

3.

Repeat for the other blade guide.

NOTE:

 Be sure that the blade guard clears the blade on both guide assemblies. The guard on the

outer guide assembly should be checked with the arm all the way in and all the way out.
