ard pot. To finish cooking the food, stir the
fried food and add the required amount of
liquid (at least 1/4 l) before you close the
pressure cooker.
Caution! Never cook without adding suf-
ficient liquid and make sure that the liq-
uid from the cooked food never complete-
ly evaporates. Failure to do so can result in
the food being burned, or cause damage to
the cooker or plastic handle.
4| Cooking with the
pressure cooker
4.1. General information
The pressure cooker cooks food under pres-
sure, i.e. at temperatures higher than 100°C.
This shortens cooking times by up to 70%,
a significant energy saving. Briefly cooking
the food in steam means that the aromas,
flavour and vitamins are largely retained.
4.2. Cooking with inserts
Depending on the size of the pressure
cooker, you can cook using an insert (12)
and trivet (13). The inserts and trivet not
included with the product are available as
accessories from your retail outlet (see “Ac-
cessories and Spare Parts” in the cover).
4.3. Heating
Place the closed, filled cooker on the heat
source and set to the highest power set-
ting. The automatic cooking function (9),
which is also the safety valve, releases air
during the heating stage until the valve au-
dibly closes and the pressure can build up.
The cooking indicator (1) rises, the yellow
pressure ring and the two orange cooking
rings become visible (K). Reduce the pow-
er setting in good time so that the orange
cooking ring recommended in the recipe
remains fully visible.
4.4. Cooking times
The cooking time only begins when the
cooking ring recommended in the recipe
is fully visible. Make sure that the ring po-
sition remains stable. Regulate the power
setting accordingly. If the cooking indicator
(1) falls below the required orange cook-
ing ring, you must increase the heat setting
again. This extends the cooking time slight-
ly. If the cooking indicator (1) rises above
the second orange cooking ring, too much
steam pressure is generated and this is au-
dibly released via the main valve (3) on the
lid handle. Take the pot from the hob un-
til the cooking indicator has fallen to the
second orange cooking ring and turn down
the power. With pressure cooking, the short
cooking times are possible because the
steam pressure creates very high tempera-
tures in the cooker:
First ring, approx. 107 °C
for delicate foods such as fish or compote.
Second ring, approx. 114 °C
for all other foods.
To save energy, turn off the heat source
just before the end of the cooking time, as
the heat stored in the cooker will be suffi-
cient to finish cooking the food. Cooking
times may vary for the same food, as the
size, shape and quality of food varies.
4.5. Information for induction hobs
The WMF Perfect Fusiontec is suitable for
all kind of hobs, including induction. Please
note: induction is a very rapid heat source.
Never heat frying pans or pots without
content, because overheating the cookware
can damage it. When cooking on high set-
tings on induction hobs, a buzzing noise
can sometimes be heard. This noise oc-
curs for technical reasons and does not in-
dicate that your hob or pressure cooker
is faulty. The cooker size and the hob size
must match, as otherwise, especially with
small diameters, it is possible that the hob
(magnetic field) will not react to the cook-
er base.
