Chapter 4 – SmartPAC PRO Program Mode

Copying an Existing Tool

(PROGRAM

– TOOL MANAGER – Select Tool – COPY TOOL)

If you want to copy the settings programmed for an existing tool to a new tool, perform the following
steps:

1.

On the Tool Manager screen, touch the existing tool that you wish to copy.

2.

Press the “COPY TOOL” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. The Numeric Entry
Keypad displays, along with a message indicating the copy source tool number, Figure 4-6.

3.

Key in the desired tool number for the new tool, and press Enter.

The newly copied tool will now appear in the Tool Manager. Before you run it, you will need to
edit the settings unique to this tool. See

Tool Program Menu,

page 133.

Copying Tool Template to a New Tool

(PROGRAM

– TOOL MANAGER – Select Tool Template, # 9999999 – COPY TOOL)

Tool Template, which is assigned tool number 9999999, is a tool you can program with settings
common to two or more tools. When used with the COPY TOOL function, Tool Template allows you
to duplicate the same collection of settings across multiple tools. Tool Template is not used to run the
press.

NOTICE

PASSWORD PROTECTION FOR TOOL TEMPLATE

To prevent unauthorized changes, you can set

SECURITY ACCESS,

is required to change the Tool Template.
