The door switch actuator is located on the front top corner of the inner
door. Refer to Figure 3.
1. Loosen the screws securing the switch actuator.
2. Slide the switch actuator up and retighten the screws, as a test.
Note
Occasionally it may be necessary to bend the top of the actuator for
the ball switch to depress sufficiently to activate the switch.
s
3. Align switch actuator and tighten the screws.
Symptom
Interchange will not hold vacuum.
Cause
(1) Inner and/or outer door alignment
(2) Cracked weld seams
(3) Fitting between valves leaking
(4) Vacuum solenoid leaking (after pump shuts off during cycle)
(5) Faulty door gasket
Solution
(1) Adjust doors.
Note
If outer door seal is suspected, vacuum grease can be applied to gas-
ket for diagnostic purposes.
s
(2) Apply RTV sealant to weld seams and pull a 20” vacuum on inter-
change. Hold the vacuum at 20” for 5 minutes. Release the vacuum and
allow sealant to cure.
(3) Inspect fitting for defects. Ensure that all fittings are tight. If neces-
sary, disassemble fittings and tape threads with Teflon tape.
Note
Apply only two wraps of tape to each fitting.
s
(4) Replace solenoid.
(5) Replace gasket. Follow procedure from Section 4.
