DSA8300 Performance Veri

cation

Install the 80E0X module(s) to test starting at the left-most small module
slot as shown in the

gure. Power on the instrument and wait 20 minutes

for warm-up.

Connect the test equipment (See Figure 7.)

Set the synthesized signal generator:

Frequency to

100 MHz (10 ns period)

Output to

1600 mV

p-p

(800 mV displayed).

Set the DSA8300 as follows:

Push the

Default Setup

front-panel button and click

Yes

Select

from the Waveform Selector menu (left end of controls bar

at bottom of the graticule).

Click

Setup > Mode/Trigger

and select

Direct

for Trigger Source.

Click the

Vert

tab and set the following:

Scale to

100 mV/div

Offset to

Click the

Horz

tab and set the following:

Scale to

5 ns/division

Position to the minimum possible value.

Horizontal Reference to

Test

Follow this procedure to make the direct trigger level accuracy check:

Click the

Meas

tab.

Select

Meas 1

Click the

Source1

button.

Make sure the channel under test is selected in the

Source

tab

Click the

Pulse

button (Signal Type area).

Click

Select Meas > Pulse – Amplitude > Amplitude
