7.1.1.6 Using an aerosol monitor (DIP switch 8)

DIP switch 8 defines that the MQL system is
operated with an AM1000 aerosol monitor.
If the DIP switch is set to the "ON" position,
the MQL control unit establishes a data con-
nection with the aerosol monitor to receive
measurement data. The measurement
data from the aerosol monitor and the data
in the MQL system's control unit are used
to determine the volumetric flow of the
aerosol, which is transmitted to the control
unit of the machine tool. Comparison of
these values with the previously determined
reference values allows the user to identify
deviations in the running process and to
respond appropriately to the situation. If the
data connection is not established, the MQL
control unit generates an error message and
the status of bit 1 in input byte 1 switches
from "1" to "0.” At the same time, an error
message is displayed on the control unit's
display (see Chapter 12.3).
