Version: B.1
WARNING
INCORRECT SETTING OF RECEIVER THRESHOLD CAN CAUSE
BROKEN RAIL DETECTION TO NOT OPERATE.
NOTE
An engineering study should be conducted to eliminate interfering
harmonics.
Applications requiring broken rail detection are possible. In these
applications use of the Receiver Threshold may be required.
2.2.3 Frequency Selection
The application of PSO frequencies is generally accomplished by separating the frequencies
into two groups with one channel separation between frequencies in each group as follows.
Table 2-1, Table 2-2, and Table 2-3 reflect these groups. Avoid using adjacent frequencies in
the same block.
One channel separation between frequencies is provided by dividing the 16 PSO frequencies
into two groups of eight frequencies each as follows.

NOTE
All frequencies within a group are compatible and may be intermixed without
restriction on the same rails without insulated joint separation. See 2.1.2.2
for AFTAC II unit frequency groupings and 2.1.2.3 for AFO unit frequency
groupings.
