Glossary-3

Front panel

Front part of a device, usually with clear identification features (e.g. device name,

manufacturer logo, etc.).

Function

Numbered software function of a device. Functions are listed in the submenus.

Function screen

Screen display depending on the called function.

Functional check

Identifier which activates the device if it determines that the measured value was influenced

(e.g. when changing to operating mode by decoding the device).

Gas analyzer

Device for the quantitative analysis of the gas and gas mixture components.

Gas input

Defined point for conducting a gas into the gas analyzer.

Gas output

Defined point for conducting a gas out of the gas analyzer.

Input field

One or multi-line area for inputting data.

Interference gas

A gas which interferes with the measurement, which can be contained as a component in the

sample gas.

Interference gas correction

Computed correction of the measured value falsification caused by the interference gas.

Interference gas deflection

The falsification of a measurement caused by interference gas.
