G. Paper hold/transfer section
No. Part name Function, operation
1 Paper hold/transfer section lock release
lever Releases the paper hold cover lock. (This cover is opened when replacing consumable parts.)
2 Fusing unit connector Connects the fusing unit with the PCU PWB and the high voltage PWB.
3 Discharge lamp Discharges the OPC drum.
4 Fan motor Discharge the ozone. Cooling the fusing unit.
5 Transfer drum tension spring Presses the transfer drum onto the OPC drum at a constant tension to keep a constant distance
between the transfer drum and the OPC drum.
6 Transfer drum bearing (electrode)
(conductor) Holds the transfer drum. The transfer voltage is applied to this bearing.
7 Transfer drum home position sensor Detects the transfer drum home position.
Each control timing is determined according to this sensor signal (as the reference).
8 Transfer drum Fixes the paper with electrostatic force and transfers toner images on the OPC drum to the paper.
9 Transparent sheet sensor (OHP IN) Detects OHP paper.
10 Paper pass detector 1 (HF IN)
(manual paper feed detector) Detects paper setting in the manual paper feed mode, and detects paper transport and jam when
paper is fed from the cassette.
11 Relay PWB Interfaces each sensor and the operation PWB and PCU PWB.
12 Image density sensor Detects the toner patch image density in the print (process) correction. Also detects paper jams.
13 Ozone filter Absorbs ozone generated in the high voltage discharging.
14 Fusing unit drive motor Drives the fusing unit and the transfer drum cleaner.
15 Cleaner clutch solenoid Controls on/off of the cleaner clutch.
16 Cleaner clutch Controls on/off (contact and separation with/from the transfer drum) of the cleaner unit. Driven by
the fusing motor.
17 Cleaner brush clutch Controls on/off of the cleaner brush. Turns on/off the connection between the fusing motor and
the cleaning brush.
18 Separation solenoid Drives the separation pawl.
19 Cleaning brush Removes residual toner and foreign materials from the transfer drum.
20 Waste toner transport screw Transports removed toner to the waste toner bottle.
21 Toner shutter Closed the toner discharge port to prevent against toner leakage when the paper hold section is
opened. The toner discharge port is opened when the paper hold section is closed.
22 Cleaning blade Removes toner and foreign materials from the transfer drum.
23 Separation pawl Separates paper mechanically which is attached onto the transfer drum.
24 Discharger unit Discharges the transfer drum surface.
25 High voltage PWB for Discharger Supplies a high voltage to the discharger.
26 Paper Jam detector (separation section) Detects paper jams in the paper separation section.
27 Paper Jam detector (cleaner section) Detects paper which is rolled into the cleaner (paper jam).
