[6] EXTERNAL VIEW AND INTERNAL STRUCTURE
1. External parts
A. Handle, lever, switch, etc.
No. Part name Function, operation
1 Paper tray Receives the printed and discharged paper.
2 Top cover (scanning unit) lock
release lever Releases the optical section cover lock. (Open this cover when replacing the consumable parts.)
3 Paper out unit lock release lever Releases the paper exit section cover lock. (Open this cover when replacing the consumable parts.)
4 Transfer unit lock release lever Releases the paper hold section cover lock. (Open this cover when replacing the consumable parts.)
5 Paper cassette (standard) Stores paper.
6 Manual paper feed slot Used for manual paper feed. (Used mainly when special paper is used in single paper feed mode.
Feeding from this slot has priority over feeding in the other cassettes.)
7 Key button Used for various settings and diagnostic operations.
8 Display Displays various data on printer engine (set values, counter values, control values, and messages).
9 Paper feed unit (option) Performs the same capacity of paper feeding as the standard paper feed unit.
10 Paper cassette (option) Stores paper

feed.
2 Paper size adjustment plate (width) Adjusts the paper width.
3 Paper size adjustment plate
(length) (paper size detection block) Adjusts the paper length.
4 Pressure plate Applies a pressure to the pressure spring to apply a constant pressure between the paper and the
pickup roller, assuring stable paper feed.
5 Separation pawl Separates the top paper from the the papers when picking up the paper.
