B. Scanning unit section
No. Part name Function, operation
1 Mirror Radiates laser beams to the OPC drum.
2 Laser beam sensor lens Leads the reference laser beam (scanning start) to the laser beam sensor.

Laser beam sensor Detects the laser beam reference position (scanning start position).
The output of this sensor serves as the reference of the print left margin.
4 Laser diode Emits laser beams.
5 Laser control PWB Turns on/off laser beams, and controls the power.
6 Collimator lens Makes the light emitted from the laser diode be parallel beams and send the beams to the scanning mirror.
7 Scanning mirror unit The six rotating mirrors scan the laser beams to form the line image.
8 Filter Prevents laser beams from being reflected.

lens (No. 1) Corrects the pitch and the form of laser beams.
Without this correction, the pitch and the form of laser beams may be deformed at the center and the edges
of the OPC drum.
