Operating Manual 1167.2319.02 ─ 12
For a fully equipped instrument, two LF generators and a noise generator are available
as internal sources.
In the upper section of the menu, the frequency modulation is activated and config-
ured. Then, the frequency ratio FM path2/path1 and the modulation mode are selected.
The "LF Generators" section sets the parameters of the LF generators 1/2. These set-
tings affect all analog modulations which use the LF generator as the internal modula-
tion source.
In the "External Inputs" section, the external inputs are configured. These settings
affect all modulations which use the same external modulation sources. For a detailed
description, see section
"External Analog Modulation Sources"
State
Activates frequency modulation.
Activation of FM deactivates phase modulation.
Remote command:
Source
Selects the modulation signal source for FM.
"LF Generator 1/2"
Uses one of the internal LF generators as modulation signal source
for AM.
"EXT 1/2"
Uses an externally applied modulation signal (EXT1, 2) for frequency
modulation.
"Noise Generator"
Uses the internally generated noise signal.
Remote command:
FM Deviation
Sets the modulation deviation in Hz.
The maximum deviation depends on the RF frequency and the modulation mode (see
data sheet).
