• Switch off the speed controller first (switch position
"OFF"). The on/off switch is at the rear of the vehicle
near the tail spoiler; see figure on the right.
• Turn the vehicle upside-down to insert the drive battery.
Push the two locking levers (A) together and fold the
battery compartment lid (B) upwards.
• Connect the drive battery to the connection plug of the
speed controller and insert the drive battery into the bat-
tery compartment.
When connecting the drive battery to the speed control-
ler, observe the correct polarity (red cable = plus/+, black
cable = minus/-).
• Use, e.g., some foam pieces to safely fasten the drive
battery in the battery compartment.
• Fold the battery compartment lid shut again so that the
two locking levers (A) latch safely.
• Turn the vehicle back again.
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels. Put the vehicle onto a suitable support so that the
wheels can turn freely in case of fault (e.g. if the drive trimming is misadjusted).
• Leave the throttle/brake lever at the transmitter in its neutral position (do not touch/move the lever). If this has not
been done before, put the trim controller "TH.TRIM" for the drive function at the transmitter in the middle position;
turn the trim controller "ST.D/R" for the dual rate function clockwise to the right until the stop.
• Switch on the speed controller ("ON"). The two white LEDs of the front headlights must light up. Wait for a few sec
-
onds until the motor emits beeps (the beeps are generated by brief activation of the motor). The number of beeps
reflects which number of LiPo-cells the speed controller recognised:
2 beeps = 2-cell LiPo drive battery
3 beeps = 3-cell LiPo drive battery
When operating the vehicle with a NiMH drive battery, 2 or 3 beeps will be emitted as well, depending on the
voltage of the NiMH drive battery.
• Then the speed controller and consequently the vehicle is ready for operation. The LEDs at the speed controller
must not light up or flash.
• Now check the drive and steering functions of the vehicle.
Error messages of the speed controller are indicated by motor beeps and/or flashing signals of the LEDs.
Observe chapter 11. c).
Check the fail-safe function of the receiver (see chapter 9. f) and programme it again if necessary (see
chapter 9. e). This serves safety at failure of the transmitter signal (e.g. transmitter out of reach, batteries in
the transmitter flat or transmitter switched off).
