b) Inserting Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries into the Transmitter
Open the battery compartment (3) at the bottom of the transmitter, push the battery compartment lid out (observe the
arrow on the battery compartment lid).
Insert either three new batteries of type AA/mignon or three fully charged rechargeable batteries. Observe correct
polarity (plus/+ and minus/-), see label on the battery compartment of the transmitter.
Close the battery compartment again.
Due to the lower voltage of rechargeable batteries (example: AA/Mignon battery = rated voltage 1.5 V,
AA/Mignon rechargeable battery = rated voltage 1.2 V), the operating time will be shorter, since the transmit
-
ter will report a too-low voltage rather soon.
Therefore we recommend only operating the transmitter with high-quality alkaline batteries instead of re-
chargeable batteries.
c) Switching the Transmitter On/Off
After inserting the batteries (see chapter 9. b), the transmitter can be switched on or off via the slider (12).
After activation, the red and green LEDs light up (if the batteries are full enough).
If the green LED (11) flashes, the inserted batteries are weak and should be replaced as soon as possible. The vehicle
can still be operated for a while.
If both the green LED (11) and the red LED (7) are flashing, the batteries are flat and must be replaced. The vehicle
can no longer be controller.
Before the transmitter is switched off or the batteries are replaced, you need to switch off the speed control-
ler at the vehicle for reasons of safety.
d) Function description of the Operating Elements
Turning wheel (1) for the steering function
The turning wheel (1) steers the front wheels of the vehicle.
When the turning wheel is in its middle position, the wheels at the vehicle must point straight ahead (parallel to the
chassis). If the wheels are diagonal although the turning wheel is in the middle position, the steering can be corrected
with the trim controller "ST.TRIM" (4).
If you steer the turning wheel at the transmitter to the left, the wheels at the vehicle must deflect to the left as well. If
you are steering to the right, the wheels must turn to the right.
Operation of the turning wheel at the transmitter only requires little power. Therefore, it is entirely sufficient
to operate the turning wheel with your finger tips. If the turning wheel is turned on with increased force once
the end stop is reached, the steering mechanics in the transmitter may be destroyed! Loss of guarantee/
warranty!
If the turning wheel is turned to the left and the wheels deflect to the right, put the slider "ST.REV" (6) in the respective
other position. This will reverse the rotational direction of the steering servo. You may then need to set the front wheels
again via the trim controller "ST.TRIM" (4).
