When you bring a new or replaced tape drive online, the 
XLS automatically calibrates its position unless you 
have already performed a manual calibration. See 

Section 8.7 on page 8-11

To bring a tape drive online, follow these steps: 

 

1.  Access the View/Manage Tape Drives page, as described in 

Section 8.1 on page

Offline column of the tape drives table, select 

Offline.

 

 
 

Important: 

As an alternative, you can select 

Online Tape Drive 

from the list of options below the table. However, if you

Online Tape Drive
