WARNING 

This accessory uses liquid nitrogen to cool the sample to 77 K. 

During filling of the liquid nitrogen tank, protective gloves 

must be worn and care must be taken not to touch the metal 

surfaces of the accessory with unprotected hands. 

Description 

The Low Temperature Accessory can be used for measurement of fluorescence and 
phosphorescence from liquid samples at liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K). 

The sample is located in a silica capillary tube of 4 mm outer diameter, 2 mm inner 
diameter and 75 mm length. This tube is held in contact with the top of a high 
purity copper rod, the bottom end of which is immersed in liquid nitrogen.
