Operation with aerosol generator AGK 2000
– upgrade kit 7086

Tests based on the standard ASTM F2299-3

There is an optional upgrade kit available for tests based on the standard
ASTM F2299-3. Prerequisite: Upgrade kit 7037 is installed. Upgrade kit 7086
includes:

• Aerosol generator

AGK 2000

• Special additional testing routines (scripts)

The

AGK 2000

is equipped with a Laskin nozzle and a cyclone separator. It

facilitates dispersion of PSL solutions (PSL = polystyrol latex). The gener-
ated aerosol contains monodispense latex particles in a concentration that
meets the specifications of the standard.

Connecting the

AGK 2000

To be able to use the

AGK 2000

, it has to be connected to the test rig in

place of the

PLG 1000

. The compressed air fitting is identical to the com-

pressed air fitting for the

PLG 1000

(NG 8, 4.5 bar).

An adapter is included for connecting the aerosol line to the filter channel.

Removing dilution system VKL from test rig

To be able to generate aerosols to be tested based on ASTM F2299-3, the
dilution system VKL has to be removed from the test rig. The aerosol sam-
pling unit has to be connected directly to the aerosol spectrometer.
