Notes on operation of aerosol sensors

Concentration of saline aerosols

Use saline aerosols with a concentration of 5% for testing at the plant and
for calibration purposes. Experience has shown that this concentration pro-
vides reproducible and precise measurement results. We recommend using
this concentration.

After generating saline aerosols:
Purging with distilled water

Generating saline aerosols can leave salt deposits in the test rig’s circulation
system. Run the aerosol generator with distilled water for about ten minutes
after generating saline aerosols. Generator flow rate: 2 l/min.

Changing type of aerosol

Before changing the type of aerosol (salt - oil), the hose from the aerosol
generator to the filter holder has to be moved by hand.
